Nivel de adherencia al tratamiento de los pacientes diabéticos del asentamiento de Virgen de Fátima

Resumen

Introducción: La adherencia al tratamiento es un determinante central del control de la diabetes mellitus tipo 2, cuya prevalencia continúa en aumento en Paraguay y en la región. El objetivo fue determinar el nivel de adherencia al tratamiento de los pacientes diabéticos del asentamiento Virgen de Fátima, km 9 ½ Monday, Ciudad del Este, durante 2022.

Materiales y métodos: Estudio observacional descriptivo, transversal y cuantitativo. Cuestionario de preguntas cerradas a 50 pacientes adultos con diabetes tipo 2 que se controlan en el dispensario médico municipal del asentamiento, previa autorización institucional.

Resultados: El grupo etario más frecuente fue 40–49 años (44 %); el 55 % tenía solo educación primaria y el 54 % estaba casado. El 37 % no realizaba controles médicos periódicos y el 9 % ningún control de glicemia. El 63 % seguía el tratamiento y el 37 % no; el 32 % había abandonado la medicación. El 32 % refirió cefalea asociada al fármaco. La atención sanitaria fue buena o excelente para el 83 %.

Conclusiones: Adherencia insuficiente, asociada a bajo nivel educativo y seguimiento irregular de controles. Se respaldan programas educativos y apoyo social adaptados a las condiciones socioeconómicas de esta población.
