Introduction: Hemodialysis is the preferred replacement therapy in renal failure, and the quality of nursing care affects patient well-being and their perception of the health system. The aim was to determine the level of quality of nursing care for patients undergoing hemodialysis at the Alto Paraná Nephrology Center.
Materials and methods: Observational, descriptive, cross-sectional quantitative study. A closed-ended questionnaire was administered face-to-face to 30 hemodialysis patients at that center.
Results: Seventy-three percent reported easy access to the service and 96% had an assigned schedule. Seventy-seven percent received adequate information from nursing staff; all reported kind treatment and trust in their preparedness. Seventy-three percent noted inadequate building infrastructure, although 98% indicated sufficient supplies.
Conclusions: Perceived care quality was satisfactory in interpersonal aspects and supplies; infrastructure is the main weakness. Strengthening the physical structure without neglecting the human component of care is supported.
