Orientación clínica de fisioterapeutas frente al dolor lumbar crónico y su percepción sobre el impacto en la funcionalidad de los pacientes

Resumen

Introducción: El dolor lumbar crónico es una de las causas más frecuentes de limitación funcional y reducción de la calidad de vida, y constituye uno de los campos de acción más comunes en fisioterapia. La orientación clínica del profesional —biomédica o biopsicosocial— y sus creencias respecto a la relación entre el dolor y la discapacidad pueden facilitar o limitar la evolución funcional de los pacientes. El objetivo fue determinar la orientación clínica de fisioterapeutas de Asunción y Gran Asunción frente al dolor lumbar crónico y su percepción sobre el impacto en la funcionalidad de los pacientes.

Materiales y métodos: Estudio descriptivo, no experimental, transversal y cuantitativo. Se aplicaron HC-PAIRS y PABS-PT mediante cuestionario autoadministrado en línea. Muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia; n = 30.

Resultados: Edad media 33,07 años (DE ±7,82; 23–49); femenino 63 %. Licenciatura 67 %, maestría 30 %, doctorado 3 %. Orientación biopsicosocial 74 %, biomédica 26 %. Percepción de relación dolor–deterioro funcional: moderada 97 %, baja 3 %, alta 0 %. Correlaciones no significativas (biomédico vs. HC-PAIRS: r = −0,275, p = 0,141; biopsicosocial vs. HC-PAIRS: r = −0,206, p = 0,275).

Conclusiones: Predomina el modelo biopsicosocial y una percepción moderada de la relación dolor–deterioro funcional, sin asociación estadísticamente significativa entre ambas dimensiones en esta muestra.
