Introduction: The final degree project (TFG) represents the culmination of academic training and many students' first formal approach to scientific research. However, this requirement often generates anxiety and ambivalent attitudes that may hinder graduation.
Objective: To determine the attitude of final-year nursing students toward preparing the final degree project at Universidad del Norte, Asunción, during 2023.
Materials and Methods: Observational, descriptive, cross-sectional quantitative study. The sample comprised 12 students in professional practice, selected by non-probability convenience sampling. An expert-validated digital Likert questionnaire assessed cognitive, affective and behavioral dimensions toward research.
Results: The population was predominantly female (83%) and young (67% aged 20–24). Despite inherent difficulties, 53% reported a globally positive attitude. High ratings were given to the usefulness of the TFG for improving institutional image and nursing care (75%), with less consensus on motivation generated by faculty scientific output.
Conclusions: There is a moderately favorable disposition toward research in the studied population. Pedagogical strategies and faculty role modeling must be strengthened to increase motivation and research competencies from early training stages.
