La enseñanza de la bioética

Introducción: En un momento en el que la tecnología domina la atención médica, la enseñanza de la ética y la bioética se vuelve esencial para todos los alumnos, particularmente para aquellos que estudian en el campo de las ciencias de la salud. En el contexto de los países de escasos recursos, la enseñanza de la bioética contribuye a una mejor comprensión de las relaciones entre las ciencias y la sociedad y a una mejor definición de las prioridades en salud pública.
Materiales y métodos: Quienes enseñan bioética en países de escasos recursos deben tener en cuenta el contexto socio-ecológico en el que se desarrolla su enseñanza.
Resultados: Los diseños de programas basados en asignaturas se prefieren sobre todo en bioética debido a razones económicas, la escasez de docentes y los grupos grandes de alumnos. Muchas de las facultades incluyen sólo algunas clases sobre bioética en el plan de estudios médico, con algunas herramientas audiovisuales básicas.
Conclusiones: La dimensión educativa jugará un papel importante en la construcción de un programa de biomedicina basado en valores. La educación en bioética representa una educación fundada en el enfoque humanista. Cabe destacar que la necesidad de una educación ética eficaz y funcional.
