Características clínicas y obstétricas de mujeres con incontinencia urinaria atendidas en un centro de rehabilitación

Introducción: La incontinencia urinaria (IU) es una disfunción del suelo pélvico de alta prevalencia en la mujer adulta, con repercusiones físicas, psicológicas y sociales, y con escasa caracterización clínica en Paraguay. El objetivo fue describir las características clínicas y obstétricas de mujeres con IU atendidas en un centro de rehabilitación entre enero de 2024 y enero de 2025.
Materiales y métodos: Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo, observacional, no experimental y transversal. Muestra de 41 mujeres por conveniencia, con registros clínicos y fichas de valoración fisioterapéutica.
Resultados: Edad promedio 55 años. Predominaron dos gestaciones (24 %) y cesárea (32 %); cirugía endopélvica 80 % y abdominal 78 %. Tipo más frecuente: esfuerzo (61 %), luego urgencia (27 %). Tras rehabilitación, la actividad voluntaria EMG aumentó de 5,53 a 12,63 μV y el tono basal bajó de 2,36 a 2,01 μV (ambos p < 0,001).
Conclusiones: El perfil se caracteriza por antecedentes quirúrgicos frecuentes y predominio de IU de esfuerzo; la rehabilitación se asoció con mejoría electromiográfica significativa.
