Introduction: Painful shoulder syndrome is a frequent cause of musculoskeletal consultation and affects function and quality of life. The aim was to assess function and limiting pain in people with painful shoulder syndrome at Hospital del Trauma Dr. Manuel Giagni using QuickDASH, before and after physiotherapy.
Materials and methods: Observational, descriptive, non-experimental longitudinal quantitative study. Twenty patients were assessed with QuickDASH at baseline and after 10 physio-kinetic treatment sessions.
Results: Female 70%; age 52–60 years 40%; right dominant limb 90%. Consultation 2–3 months after pain onset 50%. Pretreatment: ADL disability 47%, pain 46%, work activities 63%. Posttreatment: 28%, 20% and 44%, respectively.
Conclusions: The syndrome causes relevant functional limitation; physio-kinetic treatment reduced pain and improved function in this sample.
