Introduction: COPD is characterized by persistent airflow obstruction; management seeks to improve quality of life and reduce exacerbations, and inhaler adherence is a frequent challenge. The aim was to determine the relationship between inhaler adherence and quality of life in COPD patients at INERAM.
Materials and methods: Descriptive, correlational, non-experimental quantitative study. Thirty-three patients were assessed with TAI and CAT.
Results: Age ≥60 years 70%; male 52%. TAI: good adherence 55%, intermediate 21%, poor 24%. CAT: low impact 55% (predominant category). Pearson between adherence and quality-of-life scores r = −0.003.
Conclusions: Good adherence and low quality-of-life impact predominated, with no relevant relationship between them; other factors may influence perceived quality of life more.
